Coffee lover or not, no amount of caffeine can match up to the thrill the 9 days Explore Kenya Safari will give you. Starting you off will be Amboseli National Park, the official Elephant hang out. Next is Lake Nakuru National Park, the bird haven. And finally the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the domicile of all wildlife escapades. Inclusive also are mini-tours across the city as you move to your residence, not to mention the extensive road trips involved as you move from one park to another.
Day1: Transfer to Four Points hotel on arrival
On arrival, our driver will pick you from the airport and transport you to your suite in Nairobi. Enjoy the city view on the comfy ride; ask questions about any building or landmark that arouses your interest. Our officials are well versed with the city.
Day2: Amboseli (Serena)
After a good night’s rest, early next morning, our guide shall come pick you up from your suite in Nairobi and drive you to Amboseli.
Amboseli national park is known for free-ranging Elephants that can be observed closely. If you have never seen an elephant before, you won’t believe how enormous this animal is, if you have seen one before, then you know what I’m talking about. The park also offers a clear view of the peak Kibo, of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, you shall have a sneak peek tour of the park, rest for lunch and afterward, continue with the game drive. Later you shall be escorted to your suite for rest, in anticipation for a day of full exploration.
Day3: Explore Amboseli
This will be a day full of exploration. You will map out the plan for the day with your guide considering the sections of the park you didn’t explore on the previous day.
Watch out for the Observation hill, which offers a clear overview of the park, from the swampy areas to the wildlife, and also the Lake Amboseli.
Apart from the elephants, Amboseli is adorned with other wild species like the Jackals, baboons, cheetahs, buffalos, Lions, Hyenas, hippopotamus, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, among others.
The evenings at the Amboseli are glorious, as the golden rays of the setting sun behold your sight!
Day4: En-route to Lake Nakuru
Ready for a road trip? You should be as the next destination is the Lake Nakuru national park. This will be a long trip with many stopovers of course, and interesting landscape features to feast your eyes on. You’ll have a picnic lunch en-route.
On arrival at the Lake Nakuru National park, you’ll be welcomed by the millions of flamingos floating on the calm waters of Lake Nakuru.
You may have a brief tour of the park on request, but after a long drive, you may prefer to rest on the inviting accommodation suite reserved for you.
Day5: Full-day Explore Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru National Park hosts rare species of wildlife. You shall see some of the remarkable species that inhabit the park like the white rhinos, baboons, hippopotamus, lions, and leopards.
Many reptiles, like the python, will be seen moving around the cliffs. Don’t worry, they don’t bite, or coil around anything other than a tree.
At sunset, you shall retire to your lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.
Day6: Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Though a shorter drive this time, it will be a more fulfilling trip for landscape enthusiasts, as it touches on the great parts of the Great Rift Valley County.
Upon arrival, lunch will be served and you will be ushered to your suite at the luxurious Sopa Mara lodge Camps.
Day7& 8: Explore the Masai Mara
For the next 2 days, you will have an intensive tour of the park by our professional guide. Mara Game Reserve is home to over 95 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds. This is where the Great Wildebeest migration happens.
Before you are two equally tempting options; you may opt to have two game drives with a lunch break at the lodge, or a full day game drive with lunch in the wild.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve is the most spectacular of all Kenyan parks and reserves, it covers an area of 700 square miles, and forms part of the Serengeti ecosystem.
Apart from the big five, there are lots of birds, including birds of prey. Cross your fingers and hope that there is going to be a hunt, as this is the most rewarding and exciting scene to see on a safari!!
The game drives will commence before sunrise for you to get a glimpse of the nocturnal animal behaviors, and end in the evening. At the end of the 2 days, you will realize that you can never get enough of the Masai Mara, as it will leave you yearning for more.
Day9: drive back to Nairobi
This is the end of the trip but certainly not the end of our relationship. You can make your arrangements for lunch, however, a coda of the tour will be dinner at carnivore restaurant, and then you will be taken to the airport for your outbound flight.
