The irony of Lake Manyara Park is that it was formerly a hunting ground for hunters from all over the world, yet the name ‘Manyara’ signifies a protected area. It makes you wonder what was being protected. It could be that the hunters were protected from the authorities, however, now the animals have protection from the hunters, or any other artificial danger, making the park one of the best places in a Tanzania Safari to see wildlife. The 3 Day Lake Manyara Conservancy Tanzania Safari will allow you to witness the numerous forms of species as you behold the beauty of the park.
Day 1: Destination Manyara
Our driver shall pick you up from the agreed pick up point depending on where you will be coming from. The next destination is Lake Manyara National Park, so enjoy the ride as you feast your eyes on the Tanzanian landscape, courtesy of the Great Rift Valley. You’ll arrive in time for lunch, then later you’ll be advised on the activities you’ll have for the rest of the day. In the evening, a gourmet cuisine will be waiting for you at the lodge, after which we will usher you to your suite for the night.
Day 2: Explore Manyara Park
Lake Manyara covers 230 square miles of the 330 square miles that constitute the park. The good supply of water means a good supply of food, first for the herbivores and consequently for the carnivores. It also attracts a variety of aquatic animals like hippos, flamingoes, water predatory birds like the eagles, and the infamous white and grey pelicans. Find out why the grey pelicans are grounders, while the white ones prefer to nest high up on the tree, yet they are all of the same species.
The drive begins early in the morning and ends at dusk. You might decide to return to the lodge for meals or have a picnic lunch en route. Our guides are well versed with the park so don’t hold back on the questions; let the trip be informative as much as it is enjoyable.
Day 3: Bidding Lake Manyara
We might consider an optional early morning game drive, to give you a chance to view some of the species you might have missed out on the previous day. Later, after meals, our driver will drive to the airport for your flight home.
